Before any submission, it would be helpful for you to read our Affiliates page and listen to our broadcast. Again, listen to the show and ask yourself one question, “is our production standards as strong as what I am hearing?” If it is “yes” and you are a Christian Independent artist interested in submitting your music for airplay consideration, please contact us.
We generally play Contemporary, Pop and Light Rock, and feature music with a strong melody. We are exclusive; every cut must have that something worthy of broadcast airwave radio. Each Sockspider show will feature all new songs with follow-up air play provided by TSP radio. But….we do though provide a Top 10 show each November! Additionally, if you are selected for one of our shows you’ll need to sign our broadcast release form.
U.S. based radio stations are responsible for submitting royalty reports to all applicable organizations. We DO NOT submit our show to Internet radio sites and the FCC and Sound Exchange have no jurisdiction over the stations abroad that do play our show. Our show is non-commercial and non-profit and no revenue is made from the production and usage of the show. We consulted with the agencies of ASCAP/BMI/SEASAC and Sound Exchange to work out our policy. This, along with our broadcast waiver, allows us the freedom to play Independent Artists only — which benefits the artists. Opportunities are opened with radio play, and to minister to the world is a Christian musician’s calling. We do this as a ministry for you to promote your music and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Independent Chrisitan music is much like any other genre and severly limited by the record companies and labels. We’ll get your music out there to be heard, but standard radio royalty rates stand at 0.09 cents per play, thus it’ll take you 100 plays to make 1 cent. The radio is probably the best promotional tool you’ll ever see as it gets your name known and gives you the exposure to build a fanbase, which in turn leads to potential sales. Even the major artist gets the bulk of their revenue from sales and performances, they see very little from radio royalties. We want to be perfectly clear, we do this to assist you and to get the great music from your hearts to the ears that need to hear His message!

Her songs have already been featured on Worship Leader Magazine’s “Song Select” CD and have been in rotation on the 400 station “Calvary Satellite Network” as well as several other Christian radio stations. I am looking for someone to assist me in finding syndication for my oldies radio show. Do you have or can you possibly direct me to someone who would help syndicate the show. It has been on the air/web for three years with podcasts, Internet radio and FM stations in NewZealand.
I am offering a 50/50 split of any and all monies earned as long as I produce the show.
My oldies show has been on for three years with over 500,000 listeners and downloads.

Retired Teacher trades his chalk in for a Microphone
Three years ago, retired teacher, Lee Douglas began to translate his love for the music of the 50’s and 60’s lovingly called Oldies, into a new medium, the pod cast. Just retired from teaching after 35 years, he decided to turn in his chalk for a microphone. The 65 year old “new Pied Piper of Oldies” as he is called, refuses to let the music of the beginning of rock n roll die as a music of backgrounds for commercials. As a teenager in New York City he knew and was befriended by Rock pioneer, Alan Freed. Attending al the legendary performances of the great performers of the day, his knowledge and reminiscences further enhance the color and excitement of the show. An educator and pioneer in computer education, he was an advocate for teaching computer basics since the early 80’s in elementary school. Lee also was a producer, director and host for a local Florida children’s show in the early 80’s, where the kids ran the show and the equipment.
Today Lee’s focus is all music. His goal is to make the music of the 50’s and 60’s “cool” again. In November of 2006 he began his new career as a disc jockey and proponent of the new Podcast medium.
His new show, which he called “Old Time Rock n Roll, would be different in the way it was presented. The usual play lists that are the hallmark of the Oldies AM radio stations were out the window. His own collection of 70,000 songs would be digitized onto his computer to lay the groundwork for the show. Instead of playing those songs which the oldies lovers had grown tired of, he opened his collection and played the songs that haven’t been heard for many years. Then he would have a theme for each show, Novelties on one, doo wops on another, rockabilly on yet another. Each show replete with a dose of rock history and reminiscences
He researches each singer and each song to provide background for each show. On November 2006, he went on the air. By January 2007 he had garnered a listener ship of 25,000 world-wide, with an incredible 25% of his fans in the UK and Australia. Now in January 2009 Lee celebrated his 200th show. Just two months ago he celebrated his 3rd Year anniversary. Now he has added a challenge and request show, where listeners can ask for songs and try and challenge him to find and play.
With the addition of interviews with some of the old time rock n roll greats of the 50’s and 60’s like; Charlie Gracie, The Elegants, The Chantels and Joe Bennett of the Sparkletones to name just a few, Old Time Rock n Roll zooms into 2009.
The weekly show can be heard on two networks and almost every Podcast service, including iTunes and RSS feeds. Old Time Rock n Roll can be heard by logging on to http://www.oldtimernr.com and then from there to the show pages. The show is available in the archives at anytime day or night.
